Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will plan and teach Spanish Language Arts and grade level Spanish Social Studies in collaboration with middle level Dual Language and subject area teachers
  • Use instructional strategies, learning activities and assessment practices that strengthen students' reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in addition to content learning
  • Contribute to schoolwide planning and implementation of culturally responsive practices and deepen understanding and appreciation of world cultures
  • Duties include providing learning experiences in two-way dual language language arts and/or social studies middle school grade courses; contributing to new program design; working with small and large groups and individual students; creating a vibrant learning environment where all students are engaged
  • Cooperation with colleagues and parent volunteers is essential
  • Planning for the instructional needs of all students;
  • Attending to the special needs of students;
  • Teaching high expectations for student achievement and behavior;
  • Implementing state and district curriculum;
  • Providing instruction that promotes all skill development, knowledge, and reasoning;
  • Using a variety of assessments to inform instruction;
