COFLT believes teachers and students deserve recognition and support. We confer a number of awards to our community. 

Student Awards

Do you have an amazing language student that deserves recognition? COFLT offers student scholarships and certificates of achievement. 

Professional Awards

Nominate a fantastic colleague or administrator for one of COFTL's professional awards.  

Teacher Grants

Do you need financial support to help you be a better teacher? COFLT encourages and supports professional growth through a variety of grant opportunities.  

ONLY applications submitted via the COFLT website will be considered for COFLT awards and grants.  Note that applicants must be members of COFLT in good standing.

Elizabeth Baricevic / Josefina Botta Memorial Scholarships - April 1 deadline (extended to May 1st, 2023)

COFLT offers $1000 scholarships to students who demonstrate outstanding commitment to language study.

Certificate of Achievement -on a Rolling Basis 

An award that allows schools to recognize exceptional language students as they prepare to graduate from the program.

Professional Awards

 
COFLT Teacher Of the Year (TOY) - April 1 deadline (extended to July 1st, 2023)

An award which recognizes outstanding language teaching or contributions to the profession or language learning community. The COFLT TOY is connected to ACTFL's Teacher of the Year Program. 

COFLT Outstanding Contribution Award - April 1 deadline (extended to July 1st, 2023)

An award that recognizes deserving teachers and administrators who have contributed "above and beyond" to the world language community in Oregon. 

COFLT Outstanding Postsecondary Language Teacher Award - April 1st deadline (extended to July 1st, 2023)

An award that recognizes postsecondary educators at the community college, college, and university level. 

Teacher Grants

COFLT Mini Grants - On a Rolling Basis 

COFLT awards small grants to help fund professional growth, materials development, collaboration among colleagues, or cultivating language teaching and appreciation in the community.
